Friday's Song

Today's song is more of an instrumetal piece. It's from my most favorite movie EVER in the entire world. =] It's an amazing song; so heartfelt and unbelieveable.
It's The Heart Ask Pleasure First/The Promise from The Piano. I grew up watching The Piano. I was always so intrigued by it. It's so beautiful; the simpleness to it, the beauty to it. Watching this movie made me wanna learn to play the piano. I still want to play it! Even after all these years. The piano is such a beautiful instrument; my favorite instrument, in fact. (The Cello is second and Guitar is third. =])

In the video, it's scenes from the movie and then cutaways showing a piano playing the song. It's really pretty. I like the piano parts. Just to see how the song is played with no one at the piano. So cool and pretty!!

2 weeks

I just realized that it's been almost 2 weeks since I last updated this; I'm so sorry. It's not that I've been busy, cuz in fact I haven't, but because I don't have anything new in my life. I'm sorry. But I'll still continue to write because I believe this blog does help me a little bit. Helps me get by in life.

Nothing's really new with me. I've been applying to jobs but to no avail. I've applied to like.. 6 or 7 and no one's called me back. All of the places I've applied to are hiring too. So it's not like they don't need people. But, maybe I'm being over paranoid and maybe one of them will call me. I hope they do. I need the money.

I would like to go visit my bff, Dawn. We're like sisters and sometimes I even call her my sister. We both call each other sisters; that's how close we are. But she lives in Cali and I live here in Vegas. So we can't see each other as often as we'd like too. The last time I saw her was the summer of 07. It's been almost 3 years since we've last seen each other. I think it's way overdue to see each other again. We had so much fun last time we saw each other; hung out with old friends, just hung out at her house and watched movies. It was fun. I only stayed a week.. but it was amazing fun and I wanna do it again.
I also found out her brother likes me. Haha.. He changed his mind about me. I remember that he didn't very much like me.. And now he does. He's doing very well though. He has a job, he's drug free.. I'm proud of him.

But yeah, in the past 2 weeks, nothing has really happened to me. Nothing every happens to me. I think the most exciting thing that has happened was when my mother found out that she got an apt across the street from me. That means 2 things: I can play X-Box360 any/everyday and that she'll be uber close for when she has the baby and I have to watch it. I'm SOO excited for the baby!! My mother and the OB believes that it's a boy; I hope they're wrong and it's a girl. They won't know for sure until my mother goes back in for an ultrasound in about another week or two.

Cancer

Well, I just found out that one of my closest/dearest friends has cancer. For the second time. Which means that Chemo isn't really working. Now I'm like SUUUPER nervous.

This kinda happened about a year 'n a half ago too!! We all thought he was dead, but in reality wasn't. He just faked being dead cuz he was in a whole lotta trouble with some bad people. He came back to us! =D I was HELLA pissed at him though. Making us think he was dead. NOT cool!

And now, because he has cancer, it might actually happen for real this time. I don't know if I'll be able to handle it. We may never have met in real life (he lives in VT), but I still care SOOOOOOO much about him! I've known him for 3 years now!
I hope he doesn't go away. I don't want him too.

Gym

I went to the gym tonight. I spent 45mins on the treadmill and didn't crap out. Very pleased with myself. But mind you I didn't do any running. I did a very fast walk. I won't start running until I've built my cardio back up; so about another week or two. =]
I used to be good at running. Well, running short distances. But not anymore since I haven't had a decent run since about 9th grade. I've turned to Jello since then and my cardio is basicly non-existent. I tried doing a slow jog last week for a lap(1/4mile), but I crapped out halfway through the lap.

Today I did the Alpine Pass exercise. Meaning that the max incline was 6.5 & max speed was 3.5mph. Tomorrow I might go for 50mins with 7incline and still 3.5mph.
I like the Alpine Pass. It simulates as though you're actually walking/running up a hill or something. All the highs and lows. It's nice. =]

After the treadmill, I did 50 arm presses and then 50 Leg presses. Then I went home.
I can't do many leg presses at once because it puts a lot of strain on my knees and I have bad knees. I tried to do the Stairclimber, but I can't because the impact on my knees is too great. So I stay with the treadmill.
Though I do believe that the Stairclimber will tone my ass. So I will try to do it tomorrow.

The stomach needs to go as well. But, in my small apt. complex gym, the only way for that is Sit ups. I will start having to do them if I want the stomach fat to go bye bye. =]
I couldn't do them at first because putting my hands behind my head to help sit up hurt. I tried out a machine and it hurt my arms. Which meant that I couldn't properly put them behind my head. Or even outstretch them that much. Just bending my arms to put my bra on hurt.
But my arms no longer hurt. So I will start trying to do sit-ups tomorrow.

Song of the Day

Today's song is Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan by Nightwish. Translated, it means Death Makes An Artist. I LOVE this song! I love the softness of it. I also LOVE how it's in FINNISH! =D Not alot of NW songs are in Finnish. Tuomas doesn't really like writing in Finnish because he is of the opinion that writing in Finnish is rather hard, and stated "Finnish [could] quickly sound really cheesy."
But I am VERY glad that he wrote this one in Finnish.
